Piedra de Sol
Los Angeles, Cal.- Como parte de los eventos organizados por la Villa Getty en torno a la exhibición “El Panteón Azteca y el Arte del Imperio”, el Center for New Performance de CalArts y la Escuela de Teatro de CalArts presentan esta producción de Duende CalArts. Concebida, adaptada y montada por la directora mexicana Maria Morett, esta puesta en escena multimedia está inspirada en el surrealista poema de amor bajo el mismo nombre del talentoso Premio Nobel Octavio Paz. Considerado uno de los más importantes trabajos del poeta, Piedra de Sol es un poema circular basado en la forma circular del Calendario Azteca. Esta original puesta en escena será presentada en inglés, español y Náhuatl.

Piedra de Sol (Sunstone)
As part of The Aztec Pantheon and the Art of Empire exhibit hosted by the Getty Villa, The Center for New Performance at CalArts and the CalArts School of Theater present a Duende Cal Arts production.
Conceived, adapted and staged by Mexican director Maria Morett, this multimedia work for the stage is inspired by the surrealist love poem of the same name by the late Nobel laureate Octavio Paz. Considered one of the poet’s greatest works, Piedra de Sol (Sunstone) is a circular poem based on the circular calendar of the Aztecs (or sun stone,) and overflows with images both modern and historical. This original staging is performed in an aural tapestry of English, Spanish and Nahuatl.
