Casa Cultural is a program founded by Guadalupe Bojorquez in 2004 to bring art and culture to the children of Saybrook Park. Bojorquez and her daughter, Beatrice Bojorquez, manage the art center and set up each child with an individualized program according to age and experience. The kids learn layout and design, sketching and drawing, and painting in watercolor and acrylic. The center’s aim is to teach children about different cultures through arts, crafts and music.

Throughout the year, Casa Cultural invites artists to talk to the children about their work and to share their techniques. In addition, participants visit museums, art galleries, art festivals, and they also have the opportunity to participate in art contests.

In December of 2008, Casa Cultural had the opportunity to participate in the Sawdust Art Festival in Laguna Beach, CA. Participants took third place in the Tree Decorating Contest.

Casa Cultural is the first art program of its kind in the Los Angeles Country Deparament od Parks and Recreation.

  1. According to my investigation, thousands of persons in the world receive the loans at well known creditors. Hence, there’s good possibilities to receive a college loan in all countries.

  2. Now that you mention it, I have to respond on the contrary. I think “illegal” immigrants are only “bad” to for our country because of the laws, not because of the immigrants existence. I think we should legalize those who are here without proper documentation, have them pay taxes and give them the power to vote in 7 years. This is like illegal prostitution, or the war on drugs. If it’s made illegal, it doesn’t make people stop, it just excludes the government from dealing with it in any other way than penalization. Prostitutes, where they are illegal, deal with pimps for security, because the law isn’t their for them. Pimps aren’t good, but they won’t throw you in jail because you cannot make a living any other way. Drugs are still available to the masses, through shady means that are usually untried and unregulated. The government’s doing a great job at making things worse…Illegal immigrants are good, though, unlike the other two, and if you had any bit of compassion or understanding, most would agree. They help the economy by working jobs that most don’t want to do, or never even think of doing, and they’ll work for less. They add to our cultural diversity, and with legalization it will not only grow more tolerable (which we should already be because they are humans) but more familiar and probably much more appreciable.Think about it, when you think of a Canadian immigrant what comes to mind? What do you think about Mexican immigrants? Now think about why they are coming here. Are Canadians coming for the same reason Mexicans are? Probably NOT! Mexico is a dump compared to Canada, they are coming here to get away from that. Canadians? Who knows why they are coming here.Mexicans are coming here to better their lives, whether it’s legal or not, and people here see them as dirty, poor, problematic… and illegal. They are dirty and poor because they aren’t legal. I know plenty of Mexican immigrants that share my living standards, and then I know more, who are illegal, that I would not want to live with. This is what people see, and this is a misunderstanding. The stereotypical “immigrant” is an illegal Mexican in America… We already understand this, how can you not, and then on top of that, it’s the mariachi music, manudo, cowboy hats and snake skin boots and their “awful” mexican language that is being printed and painted all over California, on labels, on menus, on etc. and they are dirty and live in a dirty house with chickens in the front yard…Great, I’m sure all of you got a kick out of that… What a perfect explanation of what an immigrant is.I think we all need to grow up, and let people in, legalize them (for a small fee) if they are willing or deny them if they are not, bring in the tax money that they are using if they aren’t legal, etc, …. PROFIT!
